About Gabriela Medina
Gabriela Medina is a Venezuelan visual artist based in Paris since 2011. Her practice spans over three decades, from documentary photography , including coverage of the Tiananmen Square events published in The New York Times and Life Magazine, to her current body of work in lenticular art and digital collage.
Working at the intersection of optical perception and emotional experience, she constructs layered compositions that exist only through movement. Her lenticular works shift, vibrate and transform as the viewer moves — an experience that cannot be reproduced on screen or in print.
Her work is informed by the legacy of Venezuelan kinetic and optical art, reinterpreted through an intuitive and deeply personal approach.
